Many irons in the fire!

I haven't posted in quite sometime, but I have a lot going on these days! First of all I joined a tennis team. Second I am launching my coupon teaching business full force ( Thank you Amy) and last, but certainly not least I still have a house to sell, and kids to take care of! Whew! I hope I can keep up, if not the first two things will definitely be the first to go! I'll write more later as things progress, or I have a good story!

Wow, they do love each other!

Friday started out with sending Joycie to school, and having Tyler stay home because he threw up Thurs. night, and still had a slight fever, and a belly ache! It was the "it feels like someone is stabbing me with a knife" comment that had us show up at the doctors office at 10:00 am! Well some bloodwork, a CT scan, and 2 appointments later Tyler ended up having his appendix removed at 5:30 pm Friday evening. When we initially met with the surgeon and they told us that Tyler would need surgery he started crying, the poor boy was so scared. Then right in front of our very eyes Joycie starts crying and hugging Tyler. She actually felt sorry for him, and was giving him love we didn't know she had! The very girl who got caught yelling at him to stop hitting her when he was not even around, was showing a very strong love for the brother we have to make her be nice to! Yes, somewhere along the road we must be doing something right, and this event was just a glimmer of hope that when they are all grown up they just might still be the best of friends! Now 3 days later Tyler is not so helpless, and the bickering is back, but no worries here!!

Girls, can't live with em' can't live without em'!

Ok my a good friend of mine has 3 boys (you know who you are!) she only wanted boys, and if she could choose she would probably have ten more! I had a boy first and since my kids are almost 5 years apart I considered myself to be a "boy mom." I love going to his sporting events, playing "car show" with matchbox cars, and fortunately for him I love reptiles and bugs! When I became pregnant for the second time I kind of assumed it would be a boy, and I even kind of hoped it would be, but it was a girl! I then instantly became excited about pink clothes, dolls, doll houses, barbies, and fixing hair! I figured she would be sweet, soft spoken, angelic if you will. Boy was I ever wrong she cried for an hour and a half straight after she was born, and she's been a loud kid ever since! Now she is 7 1/2 and she doesn't want to wear anything but jeans, she wants blue clothes, and she hates to have her hair fixed:( She started crying the other day because she didn't remember her hip hop dance she learned in dance class, and we were merely driving down the road! Today she came home from school quite proud that she forged my initials in her assignment notebook, and the teacher in her words "fell for it." She is down right crazy, but I don't know how I could live without her! She says we're pals and best friends! I now see that I would have been fine to be just a boy mom, but I have had the priveldge of being both a boy mom, and a girl mom ,and I wouldn't want it any other way!!

Naked Fruit

Did I get your attention? That is how I felt when I first saw a book with the title Naked Fruit! Naturally I wanted to know what it was about, and it was at the Christian book store after all so how "bad" could it be? Well I read the back, and saw that the author was Elisa Morgan the founder of MOPS so I decided to give it a go! A little background info on myself for those of you who do not know me very well is that I am a first born people pleaser. I want no conflict, everyone to get along, and most definitely everyone to be happy especially with me! So when I saw a book about having the fruits of the spirit (Love, Joy,Peace, Patience,Kindness,Goodness,Gentleness, and Self Control) but not about being nice I thought Hmmm! It was simply saying we should get past "nice Christainity, and use our own personalities bear the fruit of the spirit in a way we never have before! For those of you who do know me "nice" Christianity is something I truly can't stand, both it's characteristics and the people who posess them! (I'm sure saying this means there is some fruit I need more of, but I did learn I don't always have to be nice!)
It only took me two days to read this book, and I am now going through it for a second time a little slower! I highly reccomend picking this one up!
