Cookie is Back!

Well as of last week the elf we all know and love in this house is back! His name is cookie & he was sent directly from Santa to keep tabs on Tyler & Joycie! If they are good he moves around the house all day (which is a full time job for me, but well worth the results!) If there isn't an elf at your house I highly recommend ordering (I mean requesting one!) from Santa today! (www.elfontheshelf.com) I will post a picture of cookie later tonight!

Twelve Big Ones!

Yesterday my favorite boy ever born turned 12! We had a bowling party at Dave & Busters (an adult Chucke Cheese, if you will), and we also had Aunt Dottie & Uncle Steve ( our second parents!) come into town for a quick visit since they now reside in good ol' Knoxville, TN! We began this week long celebration last Sat., when Poppy, Grammy, Aunt Amy, Mema, and Chuck came in town for Tylers Birthday, Trick or Treating, Racing tours, and of course Shopping!! I think Tyler had a good birthday week, even though he would rather have had his birthday in OH, I kind of promised that his next birthday would be in OH, so I really hope the house sells by this time next year! Anyways Happy birthday Tyler my favorite boy ever!!!

Thirty Two Big Ones!

Anyone who knows me already knows I love my Birthday! I waited 20 years to be 30 and now tomorrow I will be 32! Today is birthday eve, and I have to drop Tyler off at church for a weekend retreat. I hope he knows the sacrifice on my behalf for letting him miss my birthday!! (just kidding) This is also my first birthday without a big family party, only because I live out of state is this allowed to happen! I have had several phone calls to wish me a happy birthday eve! (Thanks you know who who are!) I even received a gift in the mail from my friend Sarah who I will be donning the birthday tiarra and sash she gave me for my 3oth! A gift that keeps on giving! If you haven't figured out yet how much I love birthdays just keep reading! I am also looking forward to getting back to the sister traditon of the birthday box!!!! On this one, (actually 2) days a year I enjoy being prideful and selfish in admitting that my birthday is a grand occasion that calls for much celebration, and I will be eating cake until I'm ready to puke, and ripping open presents (Paul you better hurry up and get to the mall!) and I don't feel one bit guilty!!! Happy Birthday to me I have to go the celebrating is about to begin (or at least that's what I'm told by my wonderful mom who says I should be getting something in the mail today! Oh, and to my super cool dad who sent me so many e-cards he used up all the birthday section, Happy US Navy Day! (I looked it up it's for real!)

Many irons in the fire!

I haven't posted in quite sometime, but I have a lot going on these days! First of all I joined a tennis team. Second I am launching my coupon teaching business full force ( Thank you Amy) and last, but certainly not least I still have a house to sell, and kids to take care of! Whew! I hope I can keep up, if not the first two things will definitely be the first to go! I'll write more later as things progress, or I have a good story!

Wow, they do love each other!

Friday started out with sending Joycie to school, and having Tyler stay home because he threw up Thurs. night, and still had a slight fever, and a belly ache! It was the "it feels like someone is stabbing me with a knife" comment that had us show up at the doctors office at 10:00 am! Well some bloodwork, a CT scan, and 2 appointments later Tyler ended up having his appendix removed at 5:30 pm Friday evening. When we initially met with the surgeon and they told us that Tyler would need surgery he started crying, the poor boy was so scared. Then right in front of our very eyes Joycie starts crying and hugging Tyler. She actually felt sorry for him, and was giving him love we didn't know she had! The very girl who got caught yelling at him to stop hitting her when he was not even around, was showing a very strong love for the brother we have to make her be nice to! Yes, somewhere along the road we must be doing something right, and this event was just a glimmer of hope that when they are all grown up they just might still be the best of friends! Now 3 days later Tyler is not so helpless, and the bickering is back, but no worries here!!

Girls, can't live with em' can't live without em'!

Ok my a good friend of mine has 3 boys (you know who you are!) she only wanted boys, and if she could choose she would probably have ten more! I had a boy first and since my kids are almost 5 years apart I considered myself to be a "boy mom." I love going to his sporting events, playing "car show" with matchbox cars, and fortunately for him I love reptiles and bugs! When I became pregnant for the second time I kind of assumed it would be a boy, and I even kind of hoped it would be, but it was a girl! I then instantly became excited about pink clothes, dolls, doll houses, barbies, and fixing hair! I figured she would be sweet, soft spoken, angelic if you will. Boy was I ever wrong she cried for an hour and a half straight after she was born, and she's been a loud kid ever since! Now she is 7 1/2 and she doesn't want to wear anything but jeans, she wants blue clothes, and she hates to have her hair fixed:( She started crying the other day because she didn't remember her hip hop dance she learned in dance class, and we were merely driving down the road! Today she came home from school quite proud that she forged my initials in her assignment notebook, and the teacher in her words "fell for it." She is down right crazy, but I don't know how I could live without her! She says we're pals and best friends! I now see that I would have been fine to be just a boy mom, but I have had the priveldge of being both a boy mom, and a girl mom ,and I wouldn't want it any other way!!

Naked Fruit

Did I get your attention? That is how I felt when I first saw a book with the title Naked Fruit! Naturally I wanted to know what it was about, and it was at the Christian book store after all so how "bad" could it be? Well I read the back, and saw that the author was Elisa Morgan the founder of MOPS so I decided to give it a go! A little background info on myself for those of you who do not know me very well is that I am a first born people pleaser. I want no conflict, everyone to get along, and most definitely everyone to be happy especially with me! So when I saw a book about having the fruits of the spirit (Love, Joy,Peace, Patience,Kindness,Goodness,Gentleness, and Self Control) but not about being nice I thought Hmmm! It was simply saying we should get past "nice Christainity, and use our own personalities bear the fruit of the spirit in a way we never have before! For those of you who do know me "nice" Christianity is something I truly can't stand, both it's characteristics and the people who posess them! (I'm sure saying this means there is some fruit I need more of, but I did learn I don't always have to be nice!)
It only took me two days to read this book, and I am now going through it for a second time a little slower! I highly reccomend picking this one up!

Back in the swing of things!

Let me just set the stage for this story by telling you my church has a gym for it's members to workout in and I sometimes ( I use this term loosely) use it! I always said when everybody went to school all day I would start a strict workout routine. It is now the beginning of 2nd & 6th grade, and that hasn't even crossed my mind!

Ok yesterday was the first real taste of back to school life! Keep in mind it is the third day! First of all nobody was quite as excited to wake up and get to school early, there was dilly-dallying, and worst of all whining! All of those things aside I got everyone to school on time, and decided I would detail our house, which I remind you is for sale, so I try to keep it "show ready"! After a full 5 hours of cleaning, and getting a shower it's now 2:30 and I am now ready for Joycie to come home, and go to hip-hop! I am now feeling like a good mom having done all of this (with a happy attitude) and knowing the day is not nearly over. We grab a snack for the car, go to dance class come home, and within 30 minutes we eat dinner, pick up Tyler, and go to jr. choir practice and church. Stay with me I'm almost done! It is now 8:00 and we still have to do homework, as you can see there was no time to fit that in any earlier! It's officially way past bedtime 9:30 to be exact , and as I put the kids to bed Joycie asked me what I did while she was in church. I told her I also went to church, and with sheer disappointment she says "Oh, you should have worked out!",and Tyler says "Did you know my friend J*** doesn't like George W. Bush at all!" Well I don't have time to discuss these things tonight and now I'm tired, so I will eat some M&M's and go to bed!

calender Free

Hello everyone, and welcome to my first blog! I have chosen the name "What's in Store for me Today?!" because so far I live a calender free life. I also added an exclamation point and a question mark because I look forward to what my day will bring while at the same time I am not totally positive exactly what that is! I have always been a fly by the seat of my pants kind of girl, and my mom has bought me numerous calenders. (Which I initially get very excited about, and write in for about a week!) I went to a Lisa Whelchel conference at church a couple years ago, and she was filled with great ideas of things to do to make life easier! Once again motivated for a while, and still in awe, but back to my old ways!

I plan on writing little tidbits of my days of being a stay at home mom to two great kids, and a wife to a husband who by the way also thinks I should use a calender!
